PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY — AUCKLAND & QUEENSTOWN
Our Core Belief

We create spaces
that belong
where they stand.

Our work brings together architecture, landscape and material to create homes that feel considered, enduring and deeply connected to their surroundings.

We design private sanctuaries across New Zealand — from coastal cliffs in Northland to alpine valleys in Central Otago — balancing architectural ambition with quiet restraint.

Site Responsive

Every home is sculpted from its specific microclimate, solar trajectory, view axes, and natural land contours across New Zealand's varied topography.

Enduring Materiality

We prioritize authentic natural materials — Central Otago schist, heart timber, tactile concrete, and weathered metals that patinate gracefully over generations.

NEW ZEALAND ARCHITECTURAL PRACTICE
About the Practice

A studio grounded
in place.

We are an established New Zealand architecture practice dedicated to designing considered residential homes and enduring spaces rooted in landscape, material and everyday life.

Our studio operates across both the North and South Islands, offering clients intimate site knowledge whether designing an oceanfront pavilion in Matakana or a snow-capped retreat in Wānaka. We treat architecture as a collaborative dialogue between client, site, and builder.

Contextual Specificity

We do not replicate templates. Every dwelling is an original response to the climate, topography, and cultural memory of its land.

Authentic Materiality

We work with natural timber, local stone, tactile concrete, and honest metals that age with dignity and require minimal artificial treatment.

Passive Performance

Homes engineered for high thermal efficiency, natural cross-ventilation, airtight envelopes, and solar daylight optimization.

Spatial Intimacy

Balancing expansive panoramic outlooks with intimate, sheltered nooks that nurture daily family connection and tranquility.
